When’s the last time you saw a good movie…a great one? Our family is big on movies, we love going to the movies, renting On Demand, Redbox, dvd’s, movie night is a must at our house!
A couple of weeks ago, we went with a couple of our recovery groups to see Home Run. Not a huge amount of publicity for this movie. It’s not “mainstream”…but. it’s. transforming. It’s about a baseball player…It’s about a family…It’s about finding a son…a father…”re-finding” a family…It’s about recovery…and relapse…hope…giving up…and finding hope again.
You’ll laugh and cry. You will relive the hurt you have lived through…maybe the hurt you caused others to live through…Most importantly, you will relate. To one character, to all of them…you will see yourself in this movie…and your husband/wife, child, sibling, friend, pastor…You will experience the amazing acceptance that Celebrate Recovery offers.
So. Find a theater where it’s still playing. Word is today may be the last day it plays in several areas. If you aren’t near a theater, buy the dvd as soon as it comes out. This movie is for everyone, whether you’ve lived through an addicted life or just lived life…
Buy a ticket, or a dvd, for a friend who’s still in the struggle. Be their invitation to hope.
Now, go see Home Run!!!
