Cleaning House

To say I dislike cleaning our house would be the understatement of the year. I would rather have a root canal (or nap)…Someday I will convince the hubby to let us hire someone to come in once a month…someday…
I am one of those company cleaners. I need motivation. Motivation=people coming over. So this weekend, I got my chance.
It was our oldests birthday party and we had people coming over. So, hubby and I were up at a crazy early hour cleaning…rearranging furniture…setting up…And, Together, we got it done. In record time. And I didn’t hate it. I didn’t love it…but it wasn’t awful.
How often do we procrastinate…put off…delay…things we dislike or are uncomfortable with…only to find that it wasn’t as bad…or hard…or awful…as we had made it by dreading it for longer than it would have taken to just get it done.
Add to that having help getting through the dreaded task…and you wonder why you ever worried…waking up the next day to a (still) clean house…you wonder why you waited so long…
Why do we clean for company more than for our own family? Or for ourself? Are others more important to us? Do others deserve better than our husbands..our children?

Today, lets decide that our immediate family deserves our best, better then company…friends…other family…neighbors…lets give our best to the ones we live life with everyday.
