Happy Valentine’s Day

Because when your husband is in rehab and you don’t get to spend Valentine’s Day together you get him a cake from his favorite bakery and stay up until 3 am to make 56 goodie bags with his favorite candy…and Mickey Mouse pretzel Valentine treats.

It’s just what you do.

And it’s not enough. But you hope that it’s enough to make him feel loved since you can’t be there.

And you put together a backpack full of odds and ends he needs. And tuck in a card that says some of what you want to say. Maybe enough of what you want to say.

Because as lonely as you are, you cannot possibly comprehend how lonely he must be.

And all you want for Valentine’s Day is to know your sweetheart feels loved.

Happy Valentine’s Day – y’all are loved…
